Question: Should i get my 7 month old baby vacinated against swine flu?

Ok lets face it, the whole swine flu pandemic thing was blown way out of proportion and sent most of us into a panic. Yet things have calmed down now, to a point where i don't even see those swine flu Ads on TV anymore, i haven't read of a case in the paper for months, yet Dr's are still adamant vulnerable groups of people should be vaccinated. I'm not to worried about the Jab itself as i had it and 5 months on i am fine, but the Jab did make me feel awful for 24 hrs which i was warned is a side effect, for that reason it has kind of made me think do i want to put my baby through that, i'm an adult so i understood that the aching muscles and tiredness were a side effect and would pass, my baby wouldn't understand. He is due to start nursery in April i'm faced with the situation of "Do i, Don't i "?. I'd like to hear from any mothers who have recently had there baby's vaccinated, or anyones thoughts on the subject. Thanks

The way I look at it... vaccines are, very literally, toxin. They're made from the virus itself. If you don't vaccinate, your baby may or may not encounter the illness (and is more than likely not going to). If you DO vaccinate, you're going ahead and injecting them with the illness and the toxins that go along with it, as well as other chemicals that have no business being around a baby. It's "maybe " versus "definitely ", when it comes right down to "Will this hurt my baby? "

My friends little girls both got it done and were fine with them,my two boys have not had them done but like you say it was blown out of all proportions,im the same boat with my two and just cant make up mind!!!!

Yes as people in their middle age were exposed to a similar virus but this generation wasn't exposed. However the virus has evolved to prevent the host from dying although I'm not sure about the virus effect on babies.

HI I recently had the same dilemma my son is 16 months old and he was offered the jab - i had a good long think about it and heres what i came up with The vaccine is not very widly tested - whos to say what the long term affects are? also i remembered years ago - there was a vaccination that came out - i cant remember off the top of my head what it was called - it was about as widely tested as the swine flu was - loads of pregnant women got the jab - and their babys were born with severe limb deformaties and even with limbs missing also my husband gets the normal flu jab every year because he has bad asthma - this year he took the flu jab and they gave hime the swine flu jab at exactky the same time - now no exageration - this floored him for weeks and weeks he was so ill it was unreal and he said he was never getting a flu jab again - this eventualaly swung the vote for me i know a lot of mums who had their children have the jab - but i am dead against it now only you can make the right decision for your children though and each to their own - this is just my opinion and experience hope you figure it out!!! Hey.... its completely your choice but they dont know the long term side effects atm... its 50/ 50 i guess swine flu is nothing to be worried about really.. its less deadly than a normal flu virus.. but it is entierly your choice p.s: your child will feel a slight discomfort for 2-4 days ;)
